২৪ ঘণ্টার মধ্যে হত্যা মামলার রহস্য উদঘাটনসহ হত্যাকাণ্ডে জড়িত ৩ জন আসামিকে গ্রেফতার করেছে থানা পুলিশ। শনিবার (২ সেপ্টেম্বর) তারাকান্দা থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ মোঃ আবুল খায়ের-এর কার্যালয়ে সহকারি পুলিশ সুপার (ফুলপুর সার্কেল) আতাহারুল ইসলাম তালুকদার প্রেস ব্রিফিং করে এই তথ্য জানান।
তিনি জানান, উপজেলার নলদীঘি গ্রামের লাল মিয়া খান (৫০)-কে ২৯/০৮/২০২৩ তারিখে রাত আনুমানিক ১০টার দিকে ওই গ্রামের জনৈক কাশেম মিয়ার চা দোকানে চা খেয়ে মধ্য পাড়ার দিকে চলে গিয়ে আর ফিরে আসে না।
পরিবারের লোকজন লাল মিয়াকে বিভিন্ন স্থানে খোঁজাখুঁজি করে কোথাও না পেয়ে তারাকান্দা থানায় সাধারণ ডায়েরি করে; যার নম্বর-১৪৩৬। পরে বিষয়টি আমলে নিয়ে সহকারী পুলিশ সুপার ফুলপুর সার্কেল ও তারাকান্দা থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ টিম ওয়ার্ক কাজ শুরু করে।
উক্ত মামলার তদন্ত অর্পণ করা হয়, এস আই (নি:) মো: রায়হানুর রহমানকে। গত ৩১/০৮/২০২৩ তারিখে দুপুরে অজ্ঞাতনামা আসামি ফোন করে, লাল মিয়াকে অপহরণ করা হয়েছে। তার মুক্তিপণ হিসেবে দাবি করেন ৩০ লক্ষ টাকা দিতে হবে।
শুক্রবার (১ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকালে মুজিবুর রহমান-এর ফিশারি পুকুরে লাল মিয়ার লাশ পাওয়া যায়। খবর পেয়ে তারাকান্দা থানা পুলিশ লাশ উদ্ধার করে। এর পূর্বেই উল্লেখিত ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে, ৩ জনকে গ্রেফতার করে। তারা হলেন- সোহেল মিয়া (৩৫) পিতা শাহজাহান, শাহিন মিয়া (৪৫) পিতা আব্দুল জব্বার খান, আব্দুল বারেক (৪০) পিতা আলী আকবর।
এ ব্যাপারে মৃত লাল মিয়া খানের ছেলে রাসেল মিয়া গতকাল শুক্রবার (১ সেপ্টেম্বর) তারাকান্দা থানায় একটি মামলা দায়ের করে। মামলা নং – ২। ধারা ৩৬৪/৩৮৫/৩০২/২০১/৩৪ রজু হয়।
তারাকান্দা থানায় অপহরণ ও হত্যা করে লাশ গুম করার ঘটনায় মামলায় জড়িত আসামিদেরকে বিজ্ঞ আদালতে সোপর্দ প্রক্রিয়া চলমান রয়েছে।
