জাতিসংঘের খাদ্য ও কৃষি সংস্থার (এফএও) আয়োজনে খাদ্য সম্মেলনে যোগ দিতে তিন দিনের সফরে ইতালির উদ্দেশে ঢাকা ছেড়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। রোববার (২৩ জুলাই) ভোরে বিমানের একটি বিশেষ ফ্লাইটে রোমের উদ্দেশে ঢাকা ছাড়েন তিনি।
বাংলাদেশ সময় সন্ধ্যায় তাঁদের ইতালিতে পৌঁছার কথা রয়েছে।
জানা গেছে, জাতিসংঘের মহাসচিব আন্তোনিও গুতেরেসের আমন্ত্রণে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে উচ্চ পর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধিদল এই সম্মেলনে যোগ দিচ্ছে। পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ছাড়াও কৃষিমন্ত্রী, খাদ্যমন্ত্রী, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বেসরকারি শিল্প ও বিনিয়োগ বিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা এবং বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ বিষয়ক প্রতিমন্ত্রী প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী হবেন।
সফরসূচি অনুযায়ী, কাল সোমবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী এফএওর সদর দপ্তরে সম্মেলনের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ আমন্ত্রিত বক্তা হিসেবে বক্তব্য দেবেন।
উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান শেষে প্রধানমন্ত্রী ‘ফুড সিস্টেম অ্যান্ড ক্লাইমেট অ্যাকশন’ শীর্ষক প্লেনারি সেশনে অংশ নেবেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা মঙ্গলবার রোমে ইতালির প্রধানমন্ত্রী জর্জিয়া মেলোনির সঙ্গে বৈঠক করবেন। বৈঠকে সামরিক ও প্রতিরক্ষা সরঞ্জাম কেনাকাটা, ইতালিতে অবৈধ বাংলাদেশিদের বৈধকরণসহ সম্পর্ক জোরদারে উদ্যোগ নিয়ে আলোচনা হতে পারে।
